ABSOLUTELY A DELICIOUS APpVENTURE
![]() On Sunday, April 29th, we decided to have lunch at Gen Korean BBQ in Northridge, CA. This place always has long lines, which is a good indication that the food is really good. To our surprise, there was no line at all to get a table at around noon on Sunday. We got seated within a couple of minutes and our waiter was able to take our order right away. Korean BBQ is known for their meats. Basically, you order the kind of meat or fish that you like and then you cook the food at your table. Most of the meats and fish have been seasoned so they come out tasting so good and flavorful. The waiters also come around every few minutes to check whether you would like to order more food. Every so often when your grill becomes too sticky and dirty, the waiters will come and replace it for you so you can continue cooking your food on a clean grill. The food at Gen is actually good and the service is excellent. Our only issue is that their beef brisket is really tough and hard to chew. Normally when we order the beef brisket, it is sliced very thin so when it cooks, it's tender and easier to chew. We noticed that this time around, the slices of the beef brisket was thicker and therefore was tougher to harder to chew. But that didn't deter us from enjoying our lunch because we ordered other options like the Beef Kalbi and Beef Bulgogi. They were marinated so perfectly that when you cook them on the grill it comes out so flavorful. You'll notice on one of the pictures below that Gen Korean BBQ also prepares some condiments that you can enjoy with your meal. Those are the tiny plates that contain some Kimchi and other small serving of mashed potato with corn and other Korean condiments. We highly recommend that if you are going to indulge on meat, don't forget to also eat their salad. They have a great salad to complement your meat or fish order. Please enjoy some of the pictures below to give you an idea of what it looks like to dine at Gen Korean BBQ.
