ABSOLUTELY A DELICIOUS APpVENTURE
In the past we have visited other Thai Original BBQ Restaurant establishments. This is the first one we have tried in Las Vegas. It's located in a very nondescript strip mall, on Jones Street. From the outside we honestly were concerned about the restaurants upkeep. But once we got inside, we were very pleasantly surprised. It was clean and the host staff was so kind.
As with all dining during the Covid 19 Pandemic, you need a reservation in order to dine in. Before you are seated you are required to have your temperature taken. This made us feel really safe. Also, you are seated about 8-10 feet from any other diners. Again, another layer of safety for us diners. This was great. During our visit we decided to try three of our favorite dishes. We felt this would be the best way to gauge how this establishment fares compared to the others. So we had the Chicken Pad Thai, S-2 Rib dinner, and S-8 Beef Satay Thai Dinner. Well we had to admit this was probably one of the best Thai BBQ's we have been to. There are several around Los Angeles. It was so good it rivaled these... and they were the original ones in Los Angeles. The flavors of all there dishes were rich and fresh tasting. The meats were tender. And, the Pad Thai was so flavorful. The next time we are in Las Vegas we will definitely return to this location.

Chef Emeril Lagasse has one of his signature Steakhouses at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino. We decided to try this on our most recent trip to Las Vegas. During this Covid period, they did have several safety protocols in place. All staff work both face masks and face shields. In addition, all diners were seated a few tables apart. If you take a look at the pictures you can appreciate how far we had to dine from the other patrons. As a matter of fact, we had our own part of the restaurant for the majority of our meal. Emeril's influence was on full display during our entire meal. The Oysters were flavorful and so tender. When they brought the Cesar Salad, it was prepared like a piece of art (see video). Actually both of us felt this was probably the best Cesar Salad we had ever had. We both decided to have the same entrée' for dinner, the 21 day dry aged Bone-In Ribeye. They were lightly seasoned with salt and pepper. The meat was so tender... too bad it was only 20oz! This was one of the best cooked steaks we have had.
With the Rib Eye we enjoyed some smashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. The ambience of the restaurant was absolutely intimate and enjoyable. If the establishment had actually been full with other diners, I feel as if the intimacy would have been comparable. After dinner we discussed our experience. This is a location we would definitely return to. Besides the food being absolutely delicious, the wait staff were Johnny-on-the-spot for any and everything we needed. Please if you are ever in Las Vegas, and around the Venetian you must try this location. It will be simply worth every penny you spend. Eating is always a necessity, especially for us! Be warned, in Las Vegas during this Covid-19 Pandemic per Nevada law you MUST have a reservation if you are going to din in a restaurant. So be prepared to be turned away if you do not possess a reservation prior to your visit.
We arrived at the Venetian Hotel after at least a 5 hour drive from Los Angeles (a few stops along the way of course for snacks and needing to charge Sky ~ the name I gave my Tesla). Saying we were hungry was an understatement. Thankfully we arrived just before the Happy Hour was over. We decided to order a few of the happy hour appetizer's from the menu. We had the following: 1. Mini Caesar Salad 2. Thai Shrimp & Chicken Rolls 3. Stacked Chicken Quesadilla 4. Mini Cheeseburgers 5. Chicken Lettuce Wraps Okay, we were hungry. We ordered a lot. But honestly, the food was simply okay. It was Happy Hour fare. It's not like we expected anything over the top. It was satisfying for what we expected. Although, we really did enjoy the Caesar Salad. The presentation was great, and the flavors were pretty good. Very satisfying for Bar Happy Hour food. So if you want something quick and tasty, this is the fare. Not over the top, but okay. |
