Hello all followers! If this place looks familiar, it is. We have been to this location before (October 2018), but only to the Bar portion of this location. The Bar and Restaurant have completely different offerings and vibes. We were going to a show at the Music Center, and decided to have dinner here because of its proximity to the venue. This proved to be a great idea for us. Firstly, although the bar was an experience, honestly dining at a table with a wait staff will always trump bar dining. Since our show had an early call time, the restaurant was not so busy. We started with the mussels and popcorn chicken appetizers. For our Entree's we had the Salmon and Rib Eye steaks. I'm a big fan of Ribeye's, more so than Philip. This was a very good cut and overall vey tender and flavorful. Philp's Salmon was over risotto pasta. And of course he had to have his crispy fries with that (done as the likes them, almost burned to ash!). This place is a definite recommendation from us. Although, a visit in the evening when the place is all lit up, and you could see the downtown skyline twinkling would have brought this up to the next level. Maybe next time!

What a treat this was! We have always passed this whimsical place, for years. Finally we have a moment to swing by and give it a try. And what a good idea it turned out to be.
Now first let's say what a great location for a restaurant. Literally this is part of a car dealership. We have all in our days spent hours at a dealership dealing with the task of buying a car. In the process we get tired, thirsty, and especially hungry. Galpin by all accounts has a captive audience of customers. So we went with the breakfast. The interior takes you back to the heyday of the diner culture. With it's bar seating, faux leather booths, and Formica table textures you are kinda taken back in time. Our meals were basic breakfast fares, Belgium Waffles and Louisiana Style Links with Eggs and Potatoes. The food was tasty and quickly served. This was not an out of the world experience, but it was worth the trip. We definitely will be coming back. It's always nice to have options for breakfast. www.galpin.com/horselesscarriage/ For anyone looking to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city, this is the place to hang out. There is so much going on here. You can have a very relaxing lunch outside, which we did, on the sand with these amazing surf views. We had some pretty awesome dishes here. The Cobb Salad was massive, as you can tell from the pictures below. Actually, everything was massive. If you like Guacamole and Chips be prepared for a huge portion as well. My buddy Glen came along with me on this APpventure. He had the Shrimp Quesadilla. Funny, he could not eat it fast enough. He loved it. We washed it all down with a couple of their signature drinks. The Tequila Sunrise and the Blue Paradise. Which is where we were, in Paradise. The service was great as well. Very attentive wait staff. We were never lacking in any way. After we had our lunch we took a long walk along along the beach to burn off all that food we consumed. This is also an great bonus to this location. To the right of the restaurant there is a huge bluff and beach. Such a great place to just sit or hike around the rocks. To the left is the beach as well going on for miles. This place is a must visit. |
