![]() It is seldom that we find a great Filipino Restaurant that we really like. However, a couple of months ago while we were on our way to see a show at the Edwards Theater in West Covina, we stumbled upon a newly opened Filipino Restaurant called Noypitz, which looked so interesting. After several weeks, we finally decided to try this out. To our surprise, the food is really good and the service is great. We ordered their Lumpia Shanghai as an appetizer, which was really good. For anyone who is not familiar with this dish, it happens to be one of the most popular dish served at Filipino parties. This is definitely a recommended choice of appetizer at Noypitz. For the main entrees, we ordered their Fried Chicken that is crispy on the outside but so tender on the inside. We tried one of our favorite dish, the Sizzling Bistek, which is a tender sirloin beef stips cooked in soy sauce and lemon and garnished with onion slices. We were in seventh heaven at that point. Just when we thought that it can't get any better than that, we tried the Adobong Sitaw. This is string beans simmered in soy sauce, vinegar and garlic, mixed with shrimp and pork. This dish was highly pleasing to our palate that it pushed us beyond seventh heaven and out into the culinary galaxy. And it was in that elevated space of euphoria where we enjoyed their Flan that was so silky smooth and lavishly flavorful, that you can no longer compare the meal at Noypitz with anything else. The only words to utter at this point is "remarkably good." Rosa Mexicano is a nice Mexican Restaurant at LA Live in Downtown Los Angeles. This place has a really quaint design that embraces the Mexican culture and purely expresses the authenticity of their cuisine. One of their specialty is the Guacamole that bursts with organic flavor. You can really taste the freshness of their avocado. If you happen to love Salsa, you definitely have to try out Rosa Mexicano's version of their Salsa. It has the right amount of spice and you will surely love every bite when you dip your chips in their Salsa. Of course, experiencing an APpventure at a new restaurant won't be complete without tasting their drink selections. Their Mexican Colada and the Dos Agaves Barrel-Aged Cocktail wins the vote at $15 and $16 respectively. Their salad dishes and fish plates are also very good. However, compared to other similar restaurants, Rosa Mexicano is on the pricey side. It can easily be compared to El Cholo and their food are pretty similar. Price-wise, you can stretch your budget a little more at El Cholo. Rosa Mexicano is still worth trying at least once.
