Tour of casa milaIf you have been to Barcelona, you know you can't throw a stick without hitting something Gaudi-related. Well this is a gem. This was an apartment building he brought to life, with a promise he would have not interference in the construction. As he was always ahead of his time, the public did not take to his design. Either during construction or afterwards. As a matter of fact, it took decades before it was considered a jewel of Barcelona. The building is a series of organic shapes, no straight lines, and amazing sculptures on the roof. They are actually chimneys but made as a homage to the history of Barcelona. When you tour the apartments you first see the same waves and organic shapes of the building are mirrored to the inside walls and ceilings. Early tenets of the building were challenged to find furniture for a room without typical 90 degree walls. Most residents ended up having their furniture custom made for their apartments. Do see this location. For 25 Euro it is so worth the tour. Afterwards we had dinner in the restaurant on the first floor, Cafe De La Pedrera. Check out the review and pictures in our Dining tab. :)
