bohol, philippinesVisiting the Chocolate Hills was a memorable and unique experience. One of the highlights is the climb up a long, well-constructed staircase that leads to a viewing platform atop one of the hills. From this vantage point, you are rewarded with a panoramic view of hundreds of perfectly rounded hills stretching out in every direction. While the Chocolate Hills are typically known for their brown coloration during the dry season, our visit took place during the rainy season, when the landscape was lush and green. We jokingly referred to them as the “matcha hills,” which added a fun and unexpected twist to the experience. The views are especially impressive on a clear day, making the effort to reach the top well worthwhile. It is important to note that the site is somewhat remote and not easily accessible without transportation, so planning ahead is essential. Overall, the Chocolate Hills are a fascinating natural wonder and a must-see destination for anyone visiting the region.
