We love these smaller ships. In October we were on one of Celebrities largest ships, The Reflection. Tons to do and with good reason, these ships are designed for long voyages. The Imagination is ment for shorter sailings such as this weekend trip to Baja Mexico. So you don't have all the amenities and choices you would have on the larger ships. But you do not miss these things because you are really on and off the ship in a couple of days. So we have to admit, these short cruises typically do not have the best of food. But this ship has some bomb menus. The food did not disappoint! Our entire party really enjoyed every meal. Check the images below. Doesn't it look good? We spent most of our time enjoying the entertainment. The shows in the main showroom were ones we had seen before. But it's nice to see how each set of dancers interpret the arrangements. It's always fun. Another great bit of fun is the piano bar. Honestly I do not remember the piano bar's entertainers name... for good reason. He was amazing for the first two hours... but that same two hours was repeated over and over, and over. It was like listening to the same record over and over. You know that old movie line, 'Play it again Sam'... he did. Well we loved this short cruise so much, we are going to do it again in December. But this time we are going to evaluate the Spa. Stay tuned!!! One of the best Birthday Cruises ever!!! 12 Night Western Mediterranean (Barcelona Round-trip)What an amazing Cruise itinerary!
Before we highlight some of our stops, let's discuss this ship. Firstly, the crew on this ship was as accommodating, energetic, and as kind as you could have ever wanted. Our room steward was as stealth as a ninja. No matter what time we went to our room, it was made up (twice a day), and we never saw him. This ship had 16 decks of amazing experiences. This cruise we packed with port calls. Of this 13 day cruise, we only had two sea days! That is low compared to most cruises of this length. On those sea days we spent hours in the Persian Garden (Celebrity's Spa). Check the images below. They had all the rooms you could need. Steam room, Cold room, Relaxation room with beds, and a dry sauna. We also spent tons of time in the Solarium. It's an enclosed space with a pool and plenty of lounge beds for relaxation. Considering it's a solarium, it's comfortable at any hour of the day. Also, check out the images from the inside of the ship below. We are always amazed with how Celebrity always has that edge on luxury. Especially where it counts like in the dining room This was exceptionally high end. It's not often you feel like a million dollars on a cruise ship! Celebrity's aim is to please and they do. Of course this ship has high end finishings everywhere you turn. From the promenade, to the main showroom, up on The Lawn Club, to the Gym. This cruise line will not disappoint, we highly recommend Celebrity, especially the Reflection. Our end of year cruise was an amazing experience. We decided to combine a 14 day Hawaiian Cruise Adventure with a 7 day Mexican Riviera Cruise. It could not have been better. Along the way we met some amazing people and had some very memorable memories. We will outline the details of the trip below. This was the 4th time we have been on the Carnival Splendor. Thankfully the ship has been refurbished a couple of times since our last cruise. It was in great order, so no complaints in that area.
1. Room: This was a standard Balcony room. Spacious enough for us both (pictures included in gallery below). We had two daily turn-downs, this said we cannot say enough about our room Steward Rattikorn. She was Johnny on the spot, or Jane on the spot. Always catering to us. She was amazing. 2. Spa: We spent loads of time here. We had Bamboo Massages, Hot Stone Massages, Deep Tissue Massages, and simply enjoying the Spa amenities. The Thalasso Hot Water Pool is so therapeutic after those long excursion days. The Oriental Steam room (too hot for my taste), and the other steam room so inviting with their warm chairs and molded to your body recliners. Although the massages can be pricey, well worth it. Just the Spa entrance is definitely an affordable option. 3. Entertainment: The entertainment on the ship is non stop. Whether it be a Broadway style show in the main showroom, Latin music in the Bolero room, DJ sounds on the Lido Deck, pop-up games anywhere and everywhere on the ship, entertainment was not lacking on the Splendor. With the awesome Dara Jazzlyn in the Piano Bar, the Comedy club never being better, and endless guest serenading you with their rendition of our favorite tunes boredom is not an option. 4. Food: Now this was probably the highlight of the cruise. The food has never been better. Outside of a couple of items not to our taste, most EVERTHING else was so delicious. For a 21 day adventure, food does become the most important thing. We will cover more food within the Dining portion of the site. |
