Pondahan is a Filipino Restaurant in West Covina that features the richness of the Filipino Culture.  Due to its proximity to hospitals and medical business facilities, it is conveniently accessible to their busy clientele, which are mostly Filipinos.  This restaurant serves popular dishes that are typically served at celebrations and special dinners or parties. Like many other Filipino Restaurants, Pondahan serves really good crispy fried chicken, crispy pata, sisig and many others. Their prices are also very reasonable, which makes this restaurant a good choice for lunch or dinner parties. Souplantation is a restaurant that provides healthier choices.  Their salad bar has a wide range of choices from fresh fruits to vegetable options matched with a bountiful choices for condiments and dressings.  They also have several soups, pasta and baked goods as additional options.  Throughout the years, we have visited Souplantations at different locations.  This Porter Ranch branch, however, doesn't seem to have the same quality of food and service.  Some of the vegetable choices at the salad bar looked stale.  The servers and the cooks didn't seem to care about the presentation as well as the cleanliness of the area where they work.  Our visit wasn't as pleasant as we thought it would be.

Not far from the intersection of Sepulveda Blvd. and Nordhoff Street is this seafood gem, which boasts of their version of steamed seafood.  If you're craving for some juicy steamed shrimps, crabs, mussels or crispy fried catfish, we highly recommend that you try this place because your cravings will surely be satisfied.  Their fried catfish is deep fried to perfection and the batter is very flavorful.  The quality of their steamed shrimp is pretty good and each order is generously soaked in their great tasting sauces. Before your meal ends, you have to enjoy their complimentary and decadent dessert.
