![]() Eating at Barrio Fiesta is like experiencing a home cooked meal in the Philippines. What makes this place pretty unique is that they serve your entrees in the same pot or pan where they were cooked. They also keep the same recipe of Filipino dishes that has been passed on for many generations so you will be guaranteed that the taste is the same and is very familiar to the palate. I consider this restaurant to be a treat once in a while because it is so rich in goodness that sometimes it may be too much for our body to have too much indulgence. As they say, a little bit of everything won't hurt. Just stay on the safe side and monitor your sugar, salt and fat consumption. But as long as you don't eat this food everyday, you should be okay. Today, we ordered the Rellenong Talong, which is a grilled eggplant wrapped in an egg omelet and stuffed with ground pork, raisins, diced potatoes, and green peas. This dish is definitely a treat especially if you love eggplant. We also ordered my favorite Beef Caldereta, which is simmered in tomato sauce, onion, liver spread, bell pepper and cheese. This dish is a popular party favorite. The Barrio Fiesta in North Hills at the corner of Nordhoff and Woodley and can easily be located at 16150 Nordhoff Street, North Hills, CA 91343. It is next door to Seafood City Supermarket so it is definitely hard to miss.
